About Clayton Howard - Strategic UX Designer
Clayton's portrait

Hi 👋
I'm Clayton

I solve user problems that actually impact business outcomes.

Most designers create beautiful interfaces. I create experiences that reduce support tickets, increase conversions, and turn user frustration into business growth.

My Unconventional Path to UX

I discovered UX through the back door by experiencing bad UX every day.

While handling 750+ monthly support tickets at Tyler Tech, I realized something crucial: the best customer service is designing systems that don't need customer service. When 71% of my tickets stemmed from the same navigation issues, I knew this was a UX problem with measurable business impact.

At Reap Commerce, I drove conversion improvements across 8-10 e-commerce clients by combining competitive analysis, data-driven hypotheses, and strategic storytelling. I aimed to make their sites perform better, with results like 31% conversion rate lifts and 75% revenue increases.

Beyond Design

Weekends: You'll find me performing improv at The Comedy Arena (McKinney, TX) or creating music as Coin Toss Radio (four albums and counting).
